Pink Sky Unveils New Music Video for Disenchantment:

An Emotionally Massive and Resonant Artwork

[Aug 29, 2023] - LA-based husband-and-wife duo, Pink Sky, is set to release their fifth album, Disenchantment, on September 15, 2023. Written, recorded, and produced at home simultaneously with their latest album, Total Devotion, Disenchantment completes the story of the couple’s last 10 years—a narrative of loss, love, and unyielding perseverance. Conceived in the aftermath of trauma and developed amidst the weight of a crumbling society and a vanishing dream, Disenchantment captures the essence of Pink Sky's emerging style, fusing elements of pop, electronica, industrial, and rock into an aesthetic that thrives on juxtapositions: heaviness and lightness, polished production and raw emotion, and an unapologetic sincerity and severity.

An antidote to the trending wave of vapid and homogenous playlistmusic, Disenchantment is a contrasting, challenging work that confronts the harshness of contemporary American life with as many sharp hooks as soft soundscapes. The result is a devastating artistic statement presented in a format reminiscent of the golden age of albums.

The upcoming single and title track of the band’s 5th album, “Disenchantment” is the band's most crushing audiovisual release to date, featuring a devastating music video by Zac Clark. After only one viewing, Clark’s music video becomes inextricably intertwined with the music, permanently imprinted together into one emotionally massive and resonant artwork.

Pink Sky - Disenchantment (Official Video)

Director, Producer, & Cinematographer: Zac Clark

On Disenchantment the duo embraces breakdowns as catalysts for breakthroughs as they scrape at their interior and swallow their exterior, summoning raging soundscapes and dark pop hooks that are as intimate as epic. A bold and introspective collection of reflection, Disenchantment is both a private catharsis and a public counterweight for a band whose insides are finally beginning to match their outsides. Over the course of the 11 distinct tracks, Pink Sky presents all its forms, culminating in a haunting elegy for a life that never was, a dream that will never be, and an answer that doesn’t exist.

On tracks like "You Don't Care," "Decade Zero," and “Compliance,” the duo confront the despair of alienation that plagues 21st-century American life. Conversely, soul-stirring songs such as "Homecoming," “Disenchantment,” and "Closer" offer glimpses of love, hope, and forgiveness in a world increasingly plagued by a hostile apathy. Yet, through all the discomfort and harshness, Pink Sky is still able to offer tender beauty, reminding us that, despite the chaos, there might still be light if we come together.

Working from their home studio in isolation & creating genre-blending music since their inception, Ryan Hay and Angelica Hay taught themselves how to write, record, and produce material that channels their shared experiences of love, despair, trauma, and hope. Pink Sky hopes Disenchantment will forge deep connections with fans, inspiring introspection, fostering unity, and encouraging others to unleash their own dying doves before it’s too late. As our society dissolves into its next form, Pink Sky encourages everyone to make music that mirrors life: beautiful, tragic, and unpredictable.

A first for the band, Disenchantment features two collaborators: a song co-written by Irreplica (“The Way It Was”), and a haunting electric violin performance by Ritsu Katsumata on “Closer,” with each infusing a unique energy and depth to the album's rich tapestry.

The second single, “You Don’t Care,” is out now and Disenchantment will be available on all major streaming platforms on September 15, 2023. For more information about Pink Sky and their upcoming releases, please visit their official website at www.pinkskymusic.com.
